Mr. Praveen Kumar, a 8th Degree Black belt and a renowned karate master was born on 17th July 1960. He studied in Karnataka Regional Engineering College and got B.Tech (Civil) Degree in 1983. He started his karate training in 1976 under Indian Karate Style and subsequently joined Budokan in 1979 under master Mohan. he is the founder of Institute of karate and Allied Arts established in Mangalore in 1989, which now have numerous branches all over Karnataka State. He visited Malaysia in 1990 to get advanced training in Karate and Oriental Weapons under the direct supervision of Grand Master Mr. Chew Choo Soot of Karate Budokan International. He also participated in the International Tournament held at Penang in 1990. He had won the Karnataka State Grand Championship Title in 1983 and many other prizes in various Tournaments.
  He has conducted many State and National level Championships in Mangalore. He was also appointed as Grandmaster's Representative in India and he was the Vice President of AIBKF, Now he is the Secretary General of Budokan Karate- Do India and Chairman of Technical Committee. He is also the President of the Budokan Karate Association of Karnataka and Chief Advisor of Akhila Karnataka Karate Association. Presently he is practicing as a Consulting civil Engineer at Mangalore besides his Karate activities in bloom, He is happily married to Ms. Radhika a graduate from Ahmedabad University. The couple are blessed with a son, Master Aniketh.
